Goin’ To The Country

By Patricia Wilson

This is my twentieth year here in the country; it has gone by so fast.  To say I’ve become accustomed to country life would be an understatement.  There is so much here that is agreeable to me now.  An abundance of privacy, room for my dog to run and roam, being able to see a vista, wildlife including deer, coyotes, turtles, frogs and birds.  I have become accustomed to the quiet and peace that comes from living in the country; falling asleep to the distant barking of coyotes, waking up to a chorus of birdsong on summer mornings.  The cultural gifts of life in the city I am satisfied to enjoy now occasionally as a special treat and that seems like a great bargain to me now.  I want to give you a slice of life in Middleville USA.  I hope you’ll check in often to see what’s goin’ on in the country.
